In our Parsons pursuit to win the Straits of Messina Bridge project, I had the privilege to spend some time in Italy and Sicily meeting with the warm local people and partners all the while recording reference materials for this winning proposal. Inspiration for this painting came from the deck of the water ferry as we entered the Port of Messina. The hills behind Messina just glowed in the afternoon sunlight.
