This oil painting offers a captivating view of Fontaine de Vaucluse, a picturesque village in Southern France known for its pristine natural springs. The scene is dominated by Sycamore trees that stand tall like sentinels, their trunks robust and branches reaching into the sky, embodying the grandeur and resilience that these trees are known for.

The painting captures the unique light of Southern France, with a warm, radiant atmosphere that bathes the scene in a tranquil glow.

I started this painting as a demonstration done at Chicago’s Palette and Chisel. This past fall Bobbie and I traveled to Fontaine de Vaucluse on a Kathie Odom workshop. This place was magical.
